Move one lesson.
Not the whole term.

A new date should not quietly become an extra appointment. Check which occurrence is moving and which later dates should stay untouched.

Start with a finite list

Our fictional tutor has four Wednesday lessons, each at 18:00 for 45 minutes in Europe/Madrid. Imagine making these changes on 10 November 2026, before any of the lessons happen. This check works on paper or in your own calendar; it contains no customer data.

W1 to W4 are labels for this worksheet, not promised app fields or export columns. A label follows the appointment when its date changes.

Move only W3

The agreed change is Wednesday 25 November to Thursday 26 November, still at 18:00. Keep W3 and note its old and new dates. Do not also leave an active appointment on 25 November, or shift every later Wednesday.

Fictional schedule · all times 18:00 Europe/Madrid
Paper labelOriginal dateAfter moving W3After the later cutoff
W1Wed 11 Nov 2026Wed 11 Nov, 18:00Unchanged
W2Wed 18 Nov 2026Wed 18 Nov, 18:00Unchanged
W3Wed 25 Nov 2026Thu 26 Nov, 18:00Unchanged
W4Wed 2 Dec 2026Wed 2 Dec, 18:00Cancelled; retain its row

On a narrow screen, scroll the table sideways to compare all four columns. The region can also receive keyboard focus.

After the move there are still four noncancelled appointments. Checking the total alone is not enough: a missing W2 and duplicated W3 could also total four. Check every label and date.

Cancel the remaining dates deliberately

Now imagine a separate agreement: no lessons from 27 November 2026 at 00:00 Europe/Madrid onward, including that cutoff. Only W4 falls in that part of this example.

Keep its cancelled row and the reason. The record still contains four original appointments, but only three are noncancelled. Do not mark earlier lessons completed simply to tidy the list.

Before confirming any remaining-series action, read the affected dates and count. A tool may start from the selected occurrence rather than offer an arbitrary cutoff field. Check how its confirmation defines the scope instead of assuming how the button works.

Keep scheduling separate from charging

A changed date is not proof of attendance, payment or a credit charge. Apply the actual agreed policy separately. This worksheet does not recommend a universal cancellation policy or create a makeup entitlement.

For the different question of how outcomes affect prepaid balances, use the worked lesson-credit ledger.
